PayPal Integration

Integrating PayPal into your platform allows users to generate payment links easily, enabling quick and secure payments. This guide will walk you through the steps to set up PayPal integration within your application, specifically focusing on generating a payment link.

Prerequisites

• A PayPal account- Go to the PayPal website and log in with your credentials. If you don’t have an account, create one.
• Access to the Insighto.ai dashboard

Setting Up PayPal

     1. To set up PayPal, go to the Tools section under AI Agents from the sidebar. Click on the Set Up button under PayPal to begin the integration process.

    2. The Setup Your Tool dialog box appears. Click on Start New to initiate the configuration. 

    3. Enter the required details. 

• Name: Choose a name for this integration.
• Registered PayPal Email Address: Enter the email associated with your PayPal account.
• Currency: Select the currency in which your customers will make payments.

Click on the Create button.

     4. In the next step, select the function accessible to your Assistant (i.e. to generate a payment link to make the payment). Click on the Save button to finalize the setup.

Linking the Tool to Your AI Assistant

      5. Next, you need to assign the tool to the corresponding Assistant. Go to AI Agents > Assistants. If you haven’t created an Assistant yet, click on the Add an Assistant button. 

    6. In the Add an Assistant dialog box, enter a name for your chatbot Assistant and fill in the other required details. Write a prompt for your Assistant that aligns with its intended function.

Click Save & Exit.

Let’s take an example of a prompt:

Task: You are an online sales assistant for a premium wine store. Your primary responsibility is to guide customers through the purchase process by asking for their order details, calculating the total cost, and generating a payment link via PayPal. Ensure your communication is friendly, efficient, and clear, with all currency values specified in USD.

Greeting Message: Hi there! Welcome to our wine store. I'm here to help you with your purchase. How many bottles of wine would you like to order today?

Ask for Quantity
How many bottles of wine would you like to order?

Calculate the Total
Multiply the number of bottles by $30. For example, if the customer orders 5 bottles, the total will be $150. Respond with:
"Great! Your total comes to $[total] USD. Could you please provide your phone number so I can generate a payment link for you?"

Respond with: Great! Your total comes to $[total]. Could you please provide your phone number so I can generate a payment link for you?

Generate Payment Link
Once the user provides their phone number, proceed to connect with the PayPal tool to generate the payment link.

Inform the user with: Thank you! Generating your payment link now...

Provide the user with the payment link
Directly provide a clickable payment link:
"Here’s your payment link: [Payment Link]. Please complete your purchase at your convenience. If you need any further assistance, feel free to ask!"

    7. Click on the Edit button next to the Assistant you’ve created. The Update Assistant dialog box will appear. Select Connect Tools to proceed. 

     8. From the Tools Available to Assistant dropdown menu, select PayPal. Choose the configuration name you created earlier to complete the linking process.
